Fishers

Welcome to Fishers

Access city excitement from the comforts of home

Just north of Indianapolis lies the city of Fishers, where urban amenities give way to a suburban setting. Fishers has gained notoriety as publications like Money Magazine have named it one of the best places to live in the United States.

The western part of town has a vintage Midwestern feel and features abundant trees, greenery, and public spaces. Downtown is hip, modern, and expanding with apartments, luxury townhomes, and condos. The cultural center of Fishers is the Nickel Plate District, where shopping and fine dining coexist with institutions like the AMP, a local theater. Meanwhile, the suburban east side of Fishers is popular with families for its attractive streets and highly regarded school system.

For such an unassuming city, Fishers has an excellent infrastructure comprising carefully planned and well-maintained roads that sustain a constant traffic flow. Parks and recreational areas are peppered throughout the city, providing residents with places to get out into nature. Careful urban planning and steady demand ensure Fishers will retain its current mixture of culture, recreation, and home life.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Even the most sophisticated palate will be happy with the food choices in town. Peterson’s, known for its prime cuts of meat and fresh seafood, is a culinary delight and sure to please.

Across the highway from Nickel Plate is the Yard at Fishers District, a multi-use space with more restaurants, retail, and residences. If you live in either the Nickel Plate or the Fishers districts, you can walk or ride your bike to the shops and restaurants in town. There are also dog parks for those in the city with furry friends.

The Yard has several excellent restaurants. 1933 Lounge has a relaxed speakeasy vibe and is the perfect place to meet friends for cocktails or a meal. If you would rather have Italian, Sangiovese Ristorante is a solid choice, and the HC Tavern and Kitchen is also at the Yard. It has two levels and delicious menu items. You will indeed have an elevated experience.

Things to Do

Many community events are held in the Nickel Plate District at the Amphitheater (AMP).
Residents and visitors visit the Farmers’ Market for fresh produce, food, and entertainment. Another summer event is the Symphony on the Prairie. The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs concerts to the delight of the crowds.

Spark!Fishers is the annual Fourth of July event also at the AMP. There is a 5k run, followed by a lively street fair with vendors and games, capped off with a fireworks show at the night's end.

If you like to fish or boat, visit the Geist Reservoir, which features a waterfront park with dock access, a beach, a playground, and trails. There is a selection of stately waterfront homes near the reservoir. Golfers can join River Glen Country Club and play the highly-rated private course.
